Here´s what we know: Getting to know the library is essential for surviving on your academic adventure.
The best way to learn what our library has to offer is to participate the Orientation Programme which includes getting to know the library. The library will also be seen and heard at Agora on September 6 at the Opening Fair.
There are three libraries: the Main Library at Seminaarinmäki campus and the campus libraries of Mattilanniemi and Ylistönrinne. You can get your library card for free from any of these three locations.
When you are on a hunt for study materials, check the JYKDOK database. There you can see what is available in the library and where to find it. You can make reservations on items already on loan as well as renew your loans by logging in to JYKDOK with your university credentials.
Through JYKDOK, you also get access to e-books and other electronic materials. You don’t have to be physically in the library to use them either - wherever you are, just sign in with your student ID. You can download e-books, for example, to your laptop or tablet. If you do not have one, you can borrow an iPad for two weeks from the Main Library. The Library Tutorial is a good read because it has tips on how to use e-books.
There are computers for student use at the Main Library as well as the campus libraries. You can also use your own laptop as we have free WiFi on all locations. There are many types of study spaces in the library, for both group work as well as for quiet study.
